Access Statement for The Barn
Introduction
The Barn is a 16th century cottage situated in the town of Old Amersham Buckinghamshire - The Chiltern Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Old Amersham is 30 minutes from/to London by train and you can use the Chiltern mainline or tube train from Amersham Station which is a 10 minute walk from Old Amersham.
There are numerous restaurants/public houses in the Old Town plus a 24hour Tesco store so you should not go hungry!
The Barn has its own private entrance and parking space. There is also a private patio with gas barbeque, table and chairs, sunshade and heater.
Payment
Confirmation will be by e mail and a 25% non refundable deposit will be payable if the booking is made more than 8 weeks before the start of the rental. The balance shall be payable 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non-payment of the balance of the rent on or before the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract by the Client. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental, the total fee is payable. For bookings made less than 3 weeks before the commencement of the rental, no cheques can be accepted.
Payment can be made either by cheque (7 days must be allowed for clearance), or bank transfer, debit card, credit card or cash. Please note there is a 2% commission charge for using a credit card and 5% for American Express. Cheques should be made payable to G. MacNeil.
Arrival/Departure and Car Parking Facilities
On the day of arrival check-in will be 2.00 p.m. unless prior arrangements have been made for an earlier check-in. Termination is 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure unless prior arrangements have been made.
Arrangements for collection of the keys will be e mailed to you at the time of booking.
Main Entrance
The Barn is accessed through a wooden front gate and across the flagged patio to the front door. Entry to the property is by the front door where there is a 6" step down into the sitting room.
Public Areas – Sitting room, bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, Hall, corridors
There are no stairs or landings as the whole of the property is on ground floor level.
Sitting Room
There is a 6”step down from the front door into the sitting room. The sitting room is fully carpeted and overlooks the patio, there is a colour TV and DVD player and sky television. The property is heated by gas central heating and the control is by the bathroom door and the thermostat is by the front door.
Bedrooms and Sleeping Areas
There are two bedrooms to the property a double bedroom and twin bedded room. There is also a sofa in the sitting room which converts into a double bed.
The double bedroom is off the sitting room and the twin bedroom is off the kitchen both are fully carpeted.
Shower-room and WC
There is one bathroom which is off the sitting room with walk-in shower cubicle, basin, lavatory and shaving point. There is no bath.
Self-Catering Kitchen
There is a 4" step down from the sitting room into the kitchen.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing/tumble drying machine, fridge, freezer, coffee makers, toaster and all kitchen utensils including crockery and cutlery.
Outdoor Facilities
There is a private patio with table, chairs, umbrella, gas barbeque and heater.
Pets
In consideration to other tenants NO PETS are allowed.
Linen
All bed linen, duvets, pillows, towels, bathmat's and tea towels are provided.
Cleaning
The cleaners will arrive at about 10.30a.m. on the day you go but, as their time is limited, please leave the Barn in a tidy condition.
Smoking
There is a no smoking policy, under the new law smoking is prohibited.
